But photographers around the world with a passion for instant cameras continue to make art with them, using the original (but now long expired) film and some new versions that continue to be made. The 12:12 Project is an international instant film collaborative that has demonstrated since 2013 the continuing creative power of fast-developing analog film. The cast of artists changes a bit each year, but the project remains the same: 24 instant film lovers (and some guest artists) form two teams to each explore 12 themes in 12 months with a goal of pushing the boundaries of the medium.This exhibition is organized by Cromwell Schubarth, a San Jose-based journalist and photographer who has managed the project since its founder, Nashville-based Penny Felts Colbert, passed away…
